LBS College of Engineering, Kasaragod
Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Engineering, Kasaragod (LBSCEK), established in 1993 under the LBS Centre for Science and Technology, is a premier government engineering institution in Kerala. Nestled in the serene landscape of Povval, about 12 km from Kasaragod town, the 52-acre campus is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and approved by AICTE.
LBSCEK offers undergraduate programs in six disciplines—Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Civil Engineering. The college also provides postgraduate programs including M.Tech and MCA, and hosts research centers in select departments.
As the only government-aided engineering college in Kasaragod district, LBSCEK serves as a beacon of technical education for students from across the region. Known for its academic rigor and consistent placement records, the college is a trusted choice for aspiring engineers.
A hallmark of student life at LBSCEK is its vibrant technical community, led by the IEEE Student Branch (IEEE SB LBSCEK). Established in 2014, IEEE SB LBSCEK has grown into a dynamic platform for nurturing innovation, leadership, and professional excellence. The branch actively organizes workshops, hackathons, technical talks, and outreach programs, fostering a culture of collaboration and lifelong learning aligned with global IEEE standards.
Complementing this is the college's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC), which encourages creativity and start-up culture among students. While IEDC plays a key role in promoting innovation and real-world application, the IEEE Student Branch stands out as a cornerstone of technical engagement and peer-driven development on campus.
